Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Shiloh first planned on becoming an architect before choosing to pursue a profession in dentistry in his senior year of college. During a soccer game, he took an elbow to the face while going for a header and his tooth ended up falling out. He needed a dental implant to replace his knocked-out tooth and was fascinated enough with the process that he decided to change his plans entirely to work towards a dental position. He later decided to specialize in orthodontics because it combined art and science while also allowing him to give patients confidence in their smiles again. Every day as an orthodontist is filled with puzzle-solving and no two days are ever the same!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Shiloh studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, where he developed a passion for orthodontics. He later completed his residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Marquette University. One year afterward, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Today, he remains committed to pursuing continuing education courses to expand his knowledge and techniques.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

If you don’t find him at the office helping to straighten pearly whites, Dr. Shiloh enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and their two dogs. His hobbies include trying out new restaurants, staying active, playing golf, and watching his favorite team, the Chicago Bulls!
