Traditional Braces

Traditional braces are a tried-and-true way to straighten teeth. They have already helped generations of patients, and they are a great choice for many teenagers today. Not only can they handle even complex cases, but modern braces are more comfortable than ever before. Many teens like to choose fun colors for their braces so they can express their school spirit or show their enthusiasm for seasonal festivities.

Clear/Ceramic Braces

For teens who need the effectiveness of traditional braces but want a more subtle appearance, we might recommend clear/ceramic braces. These braces have clear or tooth-colored ceramic brackets that blend in beautifully with the teeth they are attached to. We may also use a tooth-colored wire for extra aesthetic appeal. As an added advantage, the brackets of these braces are often flatter than those of traditional braces, which may make them a bit more comfortable.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are plastic trays that are designed to gradually move teeth into place. They have a very subtle appearance, which appeals to many image-conscious teens. Plus, since the aligners are removable, they do not come with a long list of dietary restrictions. Their removability also contributes to a very easy oral hygiene routine. Teens who have enough self-discipline to wear the aligners for 20 – 22 hours each day often find success with this treatment.

Interdisciplinary Orthodontics

Sometimes, orthodontic care is about more than just straightening the teeth. If your teen needs some sort of restorative work, such as a dental crown or bridge, interdisciplinary orthodontic care may be necessary. We can help to shift the teeth in a way that contributes to the long-term success of various restorations.

Retainers/Oral Appliances

Retainers are a necessary part of orthodontic care. They can prevent your teen’s teeth from shifting out of place after successful treatment with braces or clear aligners. Depending on the situation, a fixed or removable retainer may be used. We are also able to provide other types of oral appliances that can work with the oral structures to support their health and function.

Dentofacial Orthopedics

Dentofacial orthopedics, also known as dental facial orthopedics, goes beyond aligning the teeth. It uses special devices to guide the growth of bone structures, such as the jaws, so they function properly. This not only promotes healthy teeth, but it can also lead to a healthier airway, improved facial symmetry, and other benefits.
